U.S. will travel to Belgium for 2011 Fed Cup opener

06/02/2010 - Paris, France (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The United States will travel to Belgium to play its 2011 Fed Cup opener, while the reigning champion Italians will head to Australia.

The best-of-five ties will be played from February 5-6.

The other quarterfinals will pit France against host Russia and the Czech Republic versus the host Slovak Republic.

Team USA will host Italy in this year's Fed Cup finale from November 6-7. The two-time winner Italians beat the 17-time champion U.S. 4-0 in last year's final in Reggio Calabria.

Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
