Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes have reassigned defenseman Justin Faulk to Charlotte of the American Hockey League. Faulk, 19, made his NHL debut October 7 and has played in three games for the Hurricanes. He has tallied 10 penalty minutes and averaged nearly 19 minutes of ice time per contest. Faulk, who helped Minnesota-Duluth to the NCAA hockey championship in April, was selected 37th overall in the 2010 draft.

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes recalled forward Zach Boychuk from Charlotte of the American Hockey League after placing forward Zac Dalpe on injured reserve. The 14th overall selection of the 2008 draft, Boychuk has seven goals and nine assists in 56 career NHL games. He has four goals and two assists in seven games for Charlotte this season.
